Hi Katie -- I'm so glad to be a part of your social network. As you already know, I had the RNY 09/29/03 and lost approximately 115 lbs. Life is WONDERFUL and just keeps getting better and better every day.

I'm looking forward to being a contributing participant in this community.

Hi Bobbie!

It's great to have you here. I'm so happy to hear your life is going so well. I know you have worked hard to accept the good in your life and I admire you for that.

Hugs,

Katie

Hello! My name is Larraine and I live - at least for now - in NE Maryland. I am presently unemployed. Am currently pursuing interests in photography, writing, digital collage and scrapbooking. In May of 2008, I made the decision to have weight loss surgery. My surgery took place November 11, 2008. After nearly a year I've lost 108 lbs. I had double knee replacement surgery July 9, 2009. I just completed my formal rehab October 2009. Before my knee surgery, I was walking in great pain and only with a cane. I couldn't even walk a city block. Now I'm walking everywhere including up and down hills. I feel reborn! My husband and I vacationed in the "North Shore of Boston" area (Gloucester, Rockport, Salem). It was wonderful to be able to walk everywhere without pain. I've been keeping a blog about my experiences. http://bariatricnewlife.blogspot.com/
I also blog about my fun with digital photography, collage and more at http://mywordsandart.blogspot.com/

My bariatric surgeon said that my weight loss surgery date was my new "birthday." He was absolutely right. Because of that surgery, I was able to qualify for knee replacement surgery. The physical therapy that I underwent was rigorous and demanding. However, the up side is that it has turned me into a "gym rat." I look forward to working out on a regular basis. I go 4-5 times a week with emphasis on the weight circuit. However, I also make sure to get my cardio in. It's a great feeling!
